Good fish welfare and biology provide more stable earnings, lower costs and reduce risk of reputation as well as lawsuits, according to Norwegian seafood analyst Tore Tønseth from Sparebank 1 Markets.

"When I started in the finance industry, I got questions about how CSR [corporate social responsibility] is added to my models," said Tønseth speaking at Sintef's Tekmar conference in Trondheim this week. "Now the focus is on what is called ESG --environmental, social and governance -- and it has been very popular in recent years.
