New York-based Amerra Capital Management on Wednesday signed a deal to acquire controlling stakes in Greek sea bass and sea bream producers Selonda and Nireus.

In bank ownership since 2015 -- after both companies went into receivership -- the sale of the two has been a long time coming.

Eight bidders of the original 12 moved into the second phase of the sales process in October last year, and all of them are private equity funds.

Amerra Capital will be acquiring between 80-85 percent of the two companies.
