Norwegian biotech firm and Antarctic krill-harvesting company Aker BioMarine saw earnings surge in 2018 by more than 21 percent compared to the year prior. However, the company also invested a huge amount into investments in new technology, science initiatives and people.

The company posted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $33.1 million (€29.4 million) driven by stronger sales across all the countries it operates in.

Revenues also increased 24 percent year-on-year to $155 million (€137.7
