The second anchovy fishing season in Peru's North-Central fishing grounds ended on Jan 15. with 99 percent of the 2.047-million-metric-ton quota landed.

Around 38,000 metric tons of catch remained uncaught an official from Peru's National Fisheries Society (SNP) told IntraFish in an update on Jan. 17

In previous seasons the outstanding balance has been made up of quota from vessels no longer operating.

The season began on Nov. 22.

The Peruvian Ministry of Production announced its anchovy quota for the North-Central waters in November.
