Mowi, the world's largest salmon farming company, has been ramping up production of salmon byproduct-based fish oil and fishmeal across all of its facilities, and plans to open a new facility in Poland focused on food-grade oil and meal this year.
Though Mowi has been producing nutritional ingredients for the pet food sector for close to 20 years, demand from the $93 billion global pet food market and the $44 billion EPA and DHA omega-3 market has the division well-positioned to be a much larger part of the salmon farming giant.
