Novel feed proteins may account for at least 10 percent of all feed ingredients used in global salmonid production by 2030, according to International Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) President Gonzalo de Romana.

This comes amid forecasts of a shortfall in feed ingredients of as much as 30 million metric tons by 2030 and an estimated 60 million metric tons by 2050.

Global Salmonid Production includes:
  • King Salmon
  • Chinook
