The outlook for fishmeal and fish oil markets is strong at the close of Peru's second anchovy fishing season in north central waters, with rising soybean prices helping firm up demand.
Peru wrapped up the second anchovy season in the north-central zone Jan. 25 with 90 percent of the 2.78 million metric ton quota caught, or around 2.5 million metric tons.
Peru has two distinct fishing zones each with their own season: The larger north central zone fishery and the southern zone.
