The National Fisheries Institute has decided to hold its Global Seafood Market Conference (GSMC) conference virtually, with the event scheduled from Feb. 1 through Feb. 5.

Earlier this year NFI announced it rescheduled its 2021 conference from January to May 23-28 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in Coronado, California.

"We still plan to host an event in May, if it’s safe to hold an in-person gathering," Gavin Gibbons, a spokesman with NFI, told IntraFish.

The rescheduling is just the latest in a long list of seafood trade shows and conferences that have been either canceled or rescheduled since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.

The seafood advocacy group is also hosting a GSMC Webinar Series to begin in January 2021 and continue bi-weekly throughout the year.
