Kathleen O. Mathisen, CHRO at Norway's Grieg Seafood will head up an incredible list of speakers at IntraFish's second Women in Seafood Leadership Summit to take place in Bergen, Norway.

Mathisen has a long experience from the international offshore oil and gas industry. She has worked with HR for more than 19 years, resulting in a broad and extensive experience within the field of HR.

She will be speaking about diversity as a competitive edge and the importance of attracting more female talent into the fish and seafood sector. She will be highlighting the need and benefits of inclusion and diversity for any seafood business.

The event will take place on March 8 at the Radisson Hotel in Bergen, in conjunction with the North Atlantic Seafood Forum conference.

After the massive success of last year's Seattle event, the Bergen summit will, once again, bring some of the industry's most prominent and promising female executives together to discuss the burning issue of how to make the seafood industry's leadership more diverse.

Mathiesen will be joined byTorunn Knoph Halhjem, senior director of global species at Trident Seafoods; Petra Weigl, general manager sales Europe at Regal Springs; and Lara Barazi-Yeroulanos, CEO of Greek bass and bream producer Kefalonia Fisheries.

IntraFish first launched the Women in Seafood initiative with a series of interviews with key female leaders in 2015 to a resounding response to push the issue further up the industry's agenda.

In response, IntraFish held the first Women in Seafood Leadership Summit in Seattle last year.

The event was an overwhelming success, with charismatic speakers from Whole Foods, Trident, Icicle Seafoods, Love the Wild, Seafish, ASMI and Regal Springs making for a high-energy evening inspiring change and renewed drive in the industry.

This year's event promises to be just as inspiring, with further speakers and a full program of the evening to be released soon.
