Ecuadorian shrimp sector welcomes EU warnings to India
Jose Antonio Camposano, president of Ecuador’s Camara Nacional de Acuacultura (CNA) told IntraFish that the EU warning to Indian exporters is welcome, although he expects the ban will not materialize. Instead, he hopes that India will step up to its responsibilities as an exporter.
“Of course if Indian shrimp was banned in Europe it would open that market further to us, but then Indian exporters could look for other channels and have an impact in other key markets,” Camposano said.
