The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) on Wednesday reported a nine-case COVID-19 outbreak at Pacific Seafood's facility in Newport, Oregon, the site of the county’s largest outbreak ever and one of the state's largest in food processing, with almost 200 associated cases last summer.

According to the OHA’s weekly outbreak report, the investigation into the new cluster at the Bayfront seafood processing facility began Aug. 11, and the latest disease onset was Aug. 14, reported the Newport News Times.

Tony Dal Ponte, general counsel with Pacific Seafood, confirmed that nine workers contracted COVID in recent weeks.
