Mowi employees test positive for COVID-19 at Norway plant

Eight employees at Mowi's plant in Norway's Hitra municipality tested positive for COVID-19 last week, making it the third major salmon company to report infection in the region.

In addition to Mowi, salmon farmers Leroy Seafood Group and SalMar have both had employees test positive in the Hitra and Froya municipalities.

Frode Arntsen, executive vice president for industry and sales at SalMar, told IntraFish that SalMar's harvesting plant has detected coronavirus among the employees, but that he has no specific details about the situation at the plant in Froya.
