A total of seven staff members at Young's Seafood in Grimsby has tested positive for coronavirus, the company confirmed to GrimsbyLive.

The outbreak has resulted in an undisclosed number of staff having to be sent home to self-isolate, according to the news site.

Recently, around 50 coronavirus cases were understood to be directly linked to an outbreak at the Karro food factory in Scunthorpe, which is owned by Young's parent company CapVest Partners LLP.

In late September, one female worker from Young's also tested positive for the virus. IntraFish reporting shows there have been 14 confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK seafood industry since the beginning of 2020.

There have been over 1,400 seafood cases reported worldwide, with the United States accounting for more than 80 percent of global cases.
