Chinese authorities are ramping up coronavirus testing in the northeast port city of Dalian, following an outbreak last week linked to a seafood processing company in the city, South China Morning Post reported.

Health officials are in the process of testing all six million residents in Dalian as of July 26.

Some 14 employees working for a seafood processing company in Dalian Liaoning Province tested positive on July 22.

All the new cases were working in the same workshop at a local seafood processing company, according to an official report at a press conference.

Dalian Kaiyang has suspended its operations and all employees are under medical observation, a government official revealed at the press conference.

Dalian authorities said they had acquired detailed information related to their imported products and trading channels, and they will begin tracking the source of the infection as soon as possible.
