Chinese authorities in Zhuanghe, the main processing district in the northeast port city of Dalian, have identified cold storage and seafood processing firm Dalian Keqiang Food Co as a source of a COVID-19 outbreak, the Global Times and several other Chinese media outlets reported.

State media in China said the outbreak, which led processors in Zhuanghe to shut down production in early November, was the result of a violation of regulations governing COVID protocols.

Seafood plants in Zhuanghe are not expected to resume operations before Jan.
