Chile's Camanchaca has reported its first positive test among its workforce at its Pesca Sur shrimp processing plant in the country's central Biobio region.

A test returned a positive result on Friday after the worker reported symptoms on Tuesday.

The affected worker was in "good condition" and self-isolating at home at the time of writing, the company said.

Eight co-workers from the Tome plant who were in close contact with the worker have also gone into self-isolation, after Camanchaca implemented strict protocols to try to prevent the spread of the disease.
