Faroese aquaculture, fisheries and processing group Bakkafrost said Friday it would give all its Faroe Islands-based employees the opportunity to get tested for Covid-19.

The company plans to offer Covid-19 screenings conducted by health professionals every second week over a two-month period. In total, each employee will be offered four rounds of screening with a two-week interval, Bakkafrost said.

The tests will be sent to the Faroese Food and Veterinary Authorities for analysis, and the results will be sent to Pal Weihe and the Faroese Department of Occupational and Public Health.

The company is providing the tests to ensure worker safety as well as following recommendations from the World Health Organization.
