When thinking of the ideal locale for a growing fish farm, a small, landlocked country in Sub-Saharan Africa isn’t the first place that comes to mind. Yet, there in Zambia, is exactly where the second-largest aquaculture producer on the African continent is located — and the company’s founder says production is only growing from here.
Londoner Adam Taylor founded tilapia producer Yalelo four years ago in Zambia, and says the African nation is surprisingly pretty idea for aquaculture.
“Zambia has 40% of all the surface freshwater in Sub-Saharan Africa,” Taylor told IntraFish.
