Brazilian tilapia producers remain on track to record at least a 15 percent increase in production this year despite the global coronavirus pandemic.

"It could be higher than this by the end of the year," Francisco Medeiros, president of aquaculture producers trade group Peixe BR told IntraFish.

The forecast, which confirms a prediction made by Medeiros at the start of this year, would push production close to the 500,000 metric tons mark.
