Columbi Salmon, the land-based salmon farming company recently launched by former salmon sector analyst Kolborn Giskeodegaard, has chosen Billund Aquaculture as its technology supplier.
However, Billund will not be tasked to deliver a turnkey facility.
Columbi expects to kick start construction of its 15,000 metric-ton facility by mid-2021 and harvest its first batch if all goes to plan in 2024, Giskeodegaard said.
So far, the company has secured 20 percent of the estimated investment needed and expects the vast majority to be financed with equity.
