Iceland's salmon farming industry is only in its earliest phases, but the companies operating there are full of optimism and ambition. The challenges, however, are many: an unclear regulatory framework, difficult logistics and uncertain public support.

Arnarlax CEO Kristian Matthiasson tells IntraFish the industry's main focus at the moment should be on stability.

"What we need now is time, we need peace, and we need focus," Matthiasson said. "And we need to be able to do the right things over a good period of time."
