Norway's algal bloom has claimed an additional 400 metric tons of salmon in Nordland, Norway's Directorate of Fisheries said Thursday in an update on the algal bloom that has been ongoing for about a week now.

No additional losses were recorded at Kvernes and Tortenneset, but there have been mortalities in Jevik and Stabben. Rinøyvåg Ø has been a site of high mortality, but the bloom hasn't spread to new locations in Nordland.

More mapping is planned for tonight and authorities continue screening samples to report the magnitude of the Chrysochromulina algae bloom, with concerns around it moving towards Tranøy lighthouse, as well as Molla.
