Nova Scotian Member of Parliament (MP) Bernadette Jordan took to Twitter to announce that Justin Trudeau has appointed her the new minister of fisheries, oceans, and the Canadian coast guard.
Jordan was elected MP for South Shore-St. Margaret’s in October 2015. She was involved in the creation of The Oceans Protection Plan, a national strategy for legislative changes that place more liability on vessel owners for proper vessel disposal. She has also served on the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.
