Following an incident earlier in the week in which Mowi subsidiary Marine Harvest Atlantic Canada lost thousands of lumpfish, the company reported Wednesday a second incident in which 12,300 more lumpfish have died. It also updated the number of fish killed in the first incident.

The "higher than normal" mortalities in the most recent incident happened when fish were being transported to a site off the southern coast of Newfoundland, called Steamers Head, said the company in a public statement.
