The first salmon from a new, land-based fish farm in Jebel Ali outside Dubai is on the market. But the project was not without challenges, according to Akva execs behind large parts of the technology.
Jebel Ali is a port city, and the water to the 34 tanks in the Unites Arab Emirates' first land-based salmon farm, Fish Farm LLC, is taken from the sea. The farm was built in an existing building, and Akva Group supplied the entire recirculation system, including all the cleaning systems and feeding systems.
