Salmon Evolution completed the first smolt release into its land-based salmon farming facility in Norway on Saturday.

Around 100,000 smolt, weighing an average of 300 grams, were released into tanks at the company's farm in Indre Haroy.

"Since we started construction back in May 2020, this is the moment that we all have been waiting for," said CEO Hakon Andre Berg.

"I am extremely proud of our organization and the fact that we have been able to adhere to our ambitious timeline, even with the challenges faced during the pandemic."
