Chilean salmon company Salmones Camanchaca is working to be carbon neutral by 2025.

Under a new strategic plan, the company will also promote reforestation and forestation projects.

The company announced the move during its first capital market day on Aug. 22.

“The world has the challenge to conciliate an economic growth with a sustainable environmental development, the global attention to the reduction of greenhouse gasses,” said Ricardo Garcia, vice president of Salmones Camanchaca.

The company’s commitment covers all operations and processes around which the company has control and which have an impact on the environment, said Alfredo Tello, sustainability technical director at the company.

Salmones Camanchaca will also work toward the implementation of sustainable practices throughout with its suppliers and other aspects of its value chain.
