The 10th edition of the AquaSur trade show kicked off Wednesday in Puerto Montt, Chile, with an array of authorities from Chile and other countries present and salmon producers from the biggest companies attending the opening remarks.

Arturo Clement, president of the Chilean association of salmon farmers, SalmonChile, addressed the main challenges, calling on the responsibility of salmon farmers to change the perception communities have of the industry.

“We can and we must do much more,” Clement said. “Times have changed, social demands are different and salmon farmers are not exempt from these changes.”
