The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries reported a new salmon escape from SalMar's offshore salmon farming subsidiary Ocean Farming on Thursday.
As of Wednesday, the cage contained about 700,000 salmon.
Ocean Farming discovered a crack in the net on its sea cage after escaped farmed fish were caught in the area.
The hole is temporarily secured, and work is being done to clarify the cause and consequences, said the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries.
