Norwegian Salmon giant SalMar suspects infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at one of its Norwegian sites, the company announced in a press release.

The suspicion of ISA has been detected at a facility in Fartoyvika in Masoy municipality in Northern Norway.

There are around 900,000 salmon with an average weight of 5,4 kilos at the site, according to the company.

Due to the size of the fish, the salmon will be harvested on an ongoing basis, even though ISA is currently not confirmed, SalMar noted.
