Gustav Witzoe, founder and owner of Norwegian salmon farming giant SalMar, said Norway's recently approved new aquaculture tax is hurting the country's salmon farmers' ability to compete internationally.

Witzoe has not spoken publicly about the new tax since it was finalized earlier this year, but in an interview with Dagbladet's financial website Borsen this week, he offered Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store some advice for handling the tax and its ramifications.

"Get rid of all advisers who believe that value creators and Norwegian companies should be chased away," he said.
