Norwegian salmon farmer SalMar reported an escape from its northern Norway site in the Troms region.

The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries announced the escape Dec. 6 following an audit that confirmed a tear in one of the nets.

The site is based near the community of Senja.

The extent of the escape, which occurred Dec. 3, is currently unknown, but three fish have been captured so far.

The fish weighed between 2-3 kilos. Currently, prices for 3-4 kilo fish are averaging NOK 61 (€6/$6.70)
