Oslo-listed salmon farmer SalMar reported an 8 percent drop in total harvests in the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year.

Its Icelandic Salmon subsidiary saw harvest volumes cut in half.

The company harvested a total of 36,900 metric tons from its operations in northern and central Norway and Iceland, compared with 40,000 metric tons last year.

Icelandic Salmon – formerly Arnarlax – harvested 2,500 in the quarter, down almost 100 percent from the 4,300 metric tons in the same period a year ago.
