Norwegian farmed salmon producer SalMar harvested nearly 41,000 metric tons across all its regions in the second quarter of 2020, the company revealed in a trading update.

This is almost exactly the same volumes it produced in the second quarter of last year, when the figure was 41,400 and the company saw a 21 percent annual spike.

In central Norway this year, the company clocked up 27,200 metric tons, and in Northern Norway the figure reached 12,000 metric tons.

For the company's Icelandic operations -- Arnarlax -- the production figure was 1,700 metric tons, down from the 2,800 metric tons it harvested in the second quarter of 2019.

SalMar said its full report on the second quarter of 2020 will be released on August 27.
