Norwegian salmon farmer Salaks, which operates in Tromso, Norway, has been granted six development permits for its FjordMax, an anchored aquaculture platform with load-bearing steel structure and space for three production units.

The units each consists of a groove, lace skirt, escape net and an integrated sludge collection unit, include water pumps and oxygenation systems that should optimize production, the company said.

Each of the six permits allows a biomass of 780 metric tons, with a duration of 10 years from when the site is cleared and a permit document has been issued.
