Russian salmon firm Aquaproduct has decided what recirculating aquaculture technology it will use for its €27 million ($30 million) land-based Atlantic salmon farming project.

The company is teaming up with Israel’s AquaMaof for the design and construction of the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) salmon project in Russia’s northwest Vologda region.

“We had carefully evaluated several available RAS technologies before making a decision to enter into a deal with AquaMaof," Alexander Makhankov, technical director for Aquaproduct, told IntraFish.

“AquaMaof is a world-known supplier of modern aquaculture technologies using proprietary water recycling techniques, and we are sure of its reliability," Makhankov said.
