Russia’s overall farmed salmon production including trout jumped 20 percent in 2018 compared with the previous year to reach 67,000 metric tons, according to the country’s federal fishery agency, Rosrybolovstvo.

The bulk of the production was provided by farmers in the Northwestern Federal District. The volume of their production amounted to 58,700 metric tons last year, up 22 percent from the 2017 level.
