A Norwegian investment group is taking a major stake in Danish recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) supplier Billund Aquaculture Group, after longtime partner and co-owner Broodstock Capital exited the company last week.

Under the new ownership structure, 35 percent of the shares will be held by Havbruksparken Utvikling and 13 percent by Okapi Salmon.

Havbruksparken Utvikling is also the majority owner of Aqua Kompetanse, a company that provides consulting services to the aquaculture industry.

"Norwegian families with significant and long-standing interests in the aquaculture industry," are behind the new owners, according to Billund.
