The latest round of Australian surveillance tests in Queensland showed no signs of white spot disease for shrimps, Business News Australia reported.

Queensland farmers suffered from the disease only two and a half years ago.

Biosecurity Queensland conducted the tests currently, which returned negative for samples from locations across Moreton Bay and the Logan and Brisbane Rivers.

"This is the second consecutive surveillance round conducted by my department which has returned negative results for the virus that causes white spot disease," the state's Minister of Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Turner said.
