Samkna, wholly owned subsidiary of Qatari conglomerate Al Qamra Holding, harvested its first batch of seabass from its offshore farm with a 2,000 metric tons capacity, MENAFN reported.

The company started the trial operation in early 2019, reaching full operation of eight floating cages in 2020.

The project is part of Qatar's National Vision 2030 related to environmental protection and development.

Samkna also built a packaging and wrapping facility close to its fish farm in Ruwais.
