Mowi, the world's largest salmon farmer, had its application to expand a salmon farm in Loch Hourn, Scotland, rejected by the local planning committee last month.

In what has been dubbed a "David v. Goliath fish farming victory," the expansion was blocked following a campaign by local Highland community group The Friends of Loch Hourn (FoLH).

The campaigners said the "knife-edge" planning committee victory represents the first time in Scotland that such a project has been quashed because of the threat to wild salmon and sea trout.
