The incoming CEO of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organization (SSPO), Tavish Scott, is making it his mission to overhaul the current regulatory system surrounding Scottish aquaculture which he has labelled “demonstrably unfit for purpose."
The former Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Shetland told IntraFish the SSPO desperately wants to streamline the regulatory process as a critical part of growing the sector.
“Not only will we lobby government, but we are also proactively taking the matter forward with ministers,” Scott told IntraFish.
