Dutch giant Nutreco, parent of aquafeed producer Skretting, bought into Indian Internet Of Things (IoT) start-up Eruvaka to help shrimp farmers reduce risks and increase productivity.
The company develops devices and mobile-based decision tools to allow farmers to monitor pond parameters and control automated equipment remotely.
Nutreco now owns 25 percent of the firm, and will help expand the brand globally through a commercial partnership with the company.
"I'm delighted that this investment enables us to bring our customers the very latest in smart technology,” said Nutreco CEO Knut Nesse.
