Norway Royal Salmon's (NRS) Arctic Offshore Farming concept is coming to life three years after NRS acquired the Icelandic company.
The construction of the site onthe west coast of Iceland will start very soon, with the first fish expected to be stocked in the third quarter of 2020, said Charles Hostlund, CEO of NRS.
The innovative concept is a double-decked cage for the different stages of salmon farming. At first, the structure is designed to withstand waves of 6.5 meters, although the long-term plan is to reach a wave height capacity of 15 meters.
