Norwegian industry association Sjømatbedriftenes CEO Robert Eriksson denied asking the government for money to aid algal-bloom affect farms but rather "remedial measures."

Minister of Fisheries Harald Tom Nesvik said on Tuesday no one has called for compensation and it is not appropriate to pay money to the farmers affected by the algae bloom in Northern Norway.

On May 23, CEO Robert Eriksson told IntraFish Norwegian industry associationSjømatbedriftenes called on the government for a compensation scheme for salmon farmer's hit by the recent algal bloom.
