Shares in Norwegian aquaculture group Gigante Salmon began trading on the Euronext Growth Oslo market this week.

Parent group Gigante Havbruk is planning to raise NOK 192 million (€18.7 million/$22.2 million) to build a land-based salmon farm.

Gigante shares worth around NOK 105.6 million (€10.2 million/$12.1 million) are now available to investors. In addition, Gigante Havbruk will contribute NOK 65 million (€6.3 million/$7.5 million) to the project.

The company applied for a listing last month.

The farm in Rodoy municipality in Nordland will have an ultimate annual production of around 20,000 metric tons of salmon.
