Northern Lights Salmon (NLS) from Balteskard in Troms applied for three development permits to build OptiFarm, which aims to produce significantly higher growth and more area-efficient production.
"OptiFarm is a semi-closed plant that consists of three main components: A tight and strong cloth that separates the fish from the outer environment, a patented filter fleet that pumps lice-free and temperature-optimal water and a transport device that allows for a gentle moving of fish without exposure to potentially lice-containing water," said the company.
