The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries halved the sea lice limit for green licenses from 0.5 to 0.25 per salmon.

As part of a plan to combat sea lice in Norway, new regulations were set in October 2017, dividing the coast into 13 production regions and imposing restrictions on production growth based on wild salmon mortality from lice in the relative areas.

Green licenses were adopted to limit any environmental challenges arising from fish escapes and sea lice spreading.
