Norwegian cod farmer Norcod's first batch of 260,000 fry is almost ready to be transferred to the sea, while another batch of juveniles is expected to arrive in December.

The company is in the process of upgraded the licenses it carries for two facilities in Mausund, Trondheim.

The cod producer is aiming to reach an annual capacity of 9,000 metric tons by 2021 and an annual supply of 25,000 metric tons by 2025.

The fish growing in size well ahead of expectations, CEO Rune Eriksen said. However, the nature of the project will take some time to expand in a measurable way.

The company plans to acquire additional sites starting 2021.
