Earlier this month, Norwegian salmon producer Knutshaugfisk reported salmon escapes to the Directorate of Fisheries after a work accident during operations at their site Flesa in Kjolsoyskaget, Hitra.
The company has not identified how much salmon was lost, but the average size of fish at the site is roughly 4.5 kilograms.
The Directorate of Fisheries will be conducting inspections and has requested tips from the public to get a full picture of the scope and distribution.
